July 11, 2023 – New Orleans CityBusiness has named Kullman Shareholder MaryJo Roberts as a 2023 Leadership in Law Honoree. She has been selected as one of 50 outstanding legal professionals in New Orleans for her successes in law and contributions to the community. MaryJo is a highly regarded employment lawyer and is a Louisiana Board of Legal Specialization certified Employment Law Specialist.
MaryJo Roberts is an employment law litigator and advocates nationally for clients in a wide range of workplace-generated disputes from inception through resolution, whether in motion pleading, mediation, or trial. MaryJo represents employers in Title VII, Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and state law discrimination issues, harassment, and retaliation claims. She also offers strategic yet practical guidance in wage-and-hour and Department of Labor audits and investigations.
She is passionate about increasing diversity and access to the legal profession. MaryJo currently chairs the firm’s scholarship committee to provide a grant to one deserving student annually to go toward their law school education. She also chairs the firm’s Julien Law Scholars Program, a week-long program wherein incoming first year law students receive guidance from attorneys, judges, and law professors on excelling in law school and beyond. Additionally, MaryJo is highly involved in the community. She serves as Board President of InspireNOLA, one of the largest charter schools in New Orleans, and she was recognized with the Inspire Higher Award for all of her service to the New Orleans Public School System.
