April 1, 2020 – As referenced in previous bulletins, the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) was required under the Families First Coronavirus Response Act (FFCRA) to issue regulations pertaining to the Emergency Paid Sick Leave Act (EPSLA) and the Emergency Family and Medical Leave Expansion Act (EFMLEA) on or before April 2, 2020. In an effort to keep our clients aware of such developments, we are sharing a link to the DOL’s temporary rule issuing regulations that the DOL posted today.
The DOL has submitted the temporary rule to the Office of the Federal Register (OFR) for publication, and is currently pending placement on public inspection at the OFR and publication in the Federal Register. The DOL has cautioned that this version of the temporary rule may vary slightly from the published document if minor technical or formatting changes are made during the OFR review process. Only the version published in the Federal Register is the official temporary rule.
We will continue to update previous bulletins and provide subsequent detailed analysis of the temporary rule. If you would like to discuss any of the information set forth in temporary rule, or have other questions, please do not hesitate to contact The Kullman Firm attorney(s) with whom you work.
