DOL FORMALLY PUBLISHES REGULATIONS INTERPRETING FFCRA IN THE FEDERAL REGISTER

April 4, 2020 – Since it has been at least a few hours since we have updated clients of The Kullman Firm on new developments connected to FFCRA and COVID-19, we thought we would let you know that the Department of Labor published in the Monday, April 6 Federal Register the interpretive regulations regarding FFCRA which it had released in preliminary form last week. Comparing the final published version of the regulations with last week’s edition, it appears that changes were largely technical, typographical, formatting-related, or otherwise not of great significance. Nevertheless, clients would probably be well-advised to print out (or otherwise retain) a copy of these latest regulations, since they will likely be the “bible“ on the FFCRA for the time being, and are only 32 pages long versus 124! Since legal developments pertaining to COVID-19 are constantly evolving, we recommend that our clients call the Kullman Firm attorney(s) with whom they work for the most current guidance on these matters.
