Mr. Klyza has represented employers in all of the principal areas of labor and employment law. He has extensive trial and appellate experience in both bench and jury cases and in proceedings before administrative agencies. These cases involve claims and issues arising under Title VII, ADA, ADEA, FMLA, OSHA, FLSA, WARN, and other federal and state employment laws, including claims of sexual harassment, wrongful discharge, breach of employment contracts, and race, sex, age, religious, and disability discrimination. In addition, Mr. Klyza represents management in matters arising under the National Labor Relations Act, including union organizing, representation elections, union decertification, arbitration, and defense of unfair labor practice charges. He regularly provides training and counseling for supervisors, managers, and executives in regard to policies and procedures to avoid claims and litigation and to ensure compliance with applicable employment laws and regulations, human resources administration, employee relations, and effective supervision.
Mr. Klyza represents companies in a wide spectrum of business and industry, among others, banking, construction, health care, inland waterways and truck transportation, manufacturing, public utilities, retailing, warehousing, and distribution.
Prior to joining the firm in 1983, Mr. Klyza served as staff attorney with the U.S. Department of Labor in Washington, D.C.
