Overview

“I take pride in the opportunity to connect and engage with clients. It’s very rewarding to get to know the people we represent, familiarize myself with all aspects of their businesses, and successfully guide them through their legal issues. I particularly enjoy the intellectual challenges inherent in the employment law field and the complex cases it yields.”

Practice Overview

In her employment litigation practice, Mina Ghantous vigorously defends employers and businesses in lawsuits alleging discrimination and retaliation on the basis of race, sex, age, and disability. She also handles wage-related issues under the Fair Standards Labor Standards Act (FLSA) and represents her clients in claims brought pursuant to the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), Family Medical Leave Act (FMLA), and Title VII.

Mina also addresses matters related to non-solicitation clauses and arbitration agreements and consults with clients regarding statutory compliance. In addition, she looks for ways to minimize their risk exposure, either preemptively or retroactively, once litigation has been commenced or a charge with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has been filed. Her excellent writing skills bolster the clear, persuasive legal strategies she crafts.

Although her clients may perceive litigation as a confusing and daunting process, Mina reassures them that she will always keep their best interests in mind and zealously advocate for them every step of the way. With strong interpersonal skills, she builds enduring relationships that foster successful legal and business outcomes.

Mina brings a valuable professional and personal background to her current legal work. She previously clerked for a West Virginia state court judge before practicing at a defense litigation firm for several years.
