Personal

My family is my number-one priority. I spend a lot of time supporting my three kids in their activities, including competitive soccer, basketball, and competitive cheer. Volunteering in their schools and giving back to the community and my church are also very important to me. I like to exercise, be involved, and spend time outside, whether that’s working in the yard or attending Southeastern Conference football games.

"Clients appreciate my strong work ethic, legal strategies, perseverance, and ability to foster close connections with people. These durable relationships enable me to be very candid with clients and walk alongside them to strategize, minimize risks, and optimize outcomes."

Practice Overview

Focusing on litigation in her national practice, Jennifer Sims handles Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) charges and employment-related lawsuits, including those involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation claims, and wage-and-hour issues. She also guides clients through contract disputes and arbitrations. Jennifer enjoys the intellectually stimulating nature of litigation and each matter’s unique fact patterns, which she shapes into a compelling narrative.

Always bringing a practical and congenial approach, Jennifer advises clients on day-to-day employment matters, including personnel policies, classification and leave issues, and updates to employee handbooks. She also oversees and participates in investigations of employee claims of discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and wage audits.

Jennifer applies her excellent information-gathering and interviewing skills to determine exactly how incidents unfolded and if they happened as described by claimants. Jennifer takes a wide-angle view of situations and sees how things appear from the perspectives of jurors and other attorneys. Her ability to read a room and put people at ease is helpful in many venues, including in the courtroom, during mediations, and in witness preparation sessions.

Prior to coming to Kullman Law, Jennifer practiced at a Louisiana law firm in the areas of employment, municipal, and construction law and also served as a city attorney for a municipality. She gained experience with medical malpractice review panels and lawsuits, as well as law enforcement liability claims. Previously, Jennifer taught at Louisiana State University’s E.J. Ourso College of Business as an adjunct instructor of sports law.

Jennifer is AV Preeminent Peer Review Rated and has been named a “Rising Star” by Super Lawyers from 2015 through 2022.
