Ms. Marrero, a native of New Orleans, Louisiana, joined The Kullman Firm in 2015.
Ms. Marrero represents employers in a wide range of employment matters, including discrimination and harassment, wrongful termination, whistleblower, and breach of contract claims. She has also advised clients on disability and leave management issues. Ms. Marrero has represented clients in state and federal courts, before administrative agencies, including the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, and in mediation.
Ms. Marrero also represents employers in wage and hour litigation under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), as well as state wage and hour laws, with an emphasis on class, collective, and hybrid actions. Ms. Marrero has experience defending employers against claims for unpaid overtime, exemption misclassification, minimum wage, and fluctuating work week violations in multiple federal jurisdictions across the United States.
Ms. Marrero is admitted to practice in all Louisiana and New York state courts, the United States District Courts for the Eastern, Middle, and Western Districts of Louisiana, and the United States Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.
While attending law school, Ms. Marrero served as Senior Research Editor for the Tulane Journal of International & Comparative Law and Chair of the Willem C. Vis International Arbitration Moot Team. She also interned with the Honorable Martin L. C. Feldman, U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana. Ms. Marrero is a recipient of Tulane Moot Court’s Edgar G. Mouton Jr. Distinguished Service Award.
Prior to joining the firm, Ms. Marrero practiced bankruptcy and financial restructuring law with a large, general practice firm based in New York.
